Arabic perfumes are fragrances from Middle Eastern perfume houses, mainly in the UAE and the Gulf. They are known for rich, warm compositions built around oud (agarwood), amber, rose, saffron, vanilla, spices and resins, usually as concentrated eau de parfum.
Most of our Arabic perfumes are alcohol-based eau de parfum sprays, which project well and suit everyday wear. Perfume oils (attar) are applied directly to the skin, sit closer to the body and contain no alcohol.
Pick by scent family first. Sweet and gourmand scents (vanilla, praline, dates) suit cold months and evenings; oud and amber feel deep and formal; fresher fruity or aquatic styles are easier for daytime. Many Arabic perfumes are marketed as unisex, so choose by how it smells rather than the label.
These are usually strong. Start with one or two sprays on pulse points such as the neck and wrists, and avoid rubbing your wrists together.
